This download does not activate a subscription or promise free future commercial services. Features may change; bugs, crashes and site incompatibilities remain possible. Keep independent backups of important information. No compatibility with every login, streaming service or extension is promised. Full Chromium development is separate from this download.

Use and component licenses

You may download, install and use the official preview without a fee. This permission does not transfer ownership of njol branding or grant a general license to redistribute or modify proprietary njol material. Third-party components retain their own licenses and rights, including applicable copying, modification and redistribution rights. Consult component notices; they are not overridden by this page. Website and provider terms apply to their own services. There is no affiliation or endorsement by Microsoft, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic or the websites shown as Pins.

Updates, signing and limitations

BOREALIS updates check a signed njol manifest and package hashes. This is separate from Windows Authenticode: the current installer is not Authenticode-signed and Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning. No Microsoft certification or absence of vulnerabilities is claimed. Download through this site or the linked official release repository and compare published hashes when needed. Do not disable Windows protection globally. There is no guaranteed support period or response-time commitment for this beta. This does not waive statutory support or other obligations where applicable.

Your statutory rights

These preview notes do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or gross negligence, and do not waive mandatory consumer, privacy or other rights. They do not impose an exclusive court or require acceptance of future paid terms. A future commercial offering requires its own clear terms and appropriate checks. Contact the publisher with questions or complaints.

NORDIC 5: beta terms

The official NORDIC 5 beta is currently free; downloading does not start a subscription. It is an independent experimental launcher and graphics add-on, not an NVIDIA product or a certified integration of its SDK. NVIDIA and DLSS are NVIDIA trademarks. No affiliation, endorsement or sponsorship by NVIDIA, Valve, Microsoft or game publishers is claimed.

The reviewed public package does not contain the NVIDIA NR runtime or its networks. Importing a compatible DLL does not grant a license to that file or establish that a particular use is authorized. You must lawfully possess the games and components you use and observe applicable terms, without prejudice to mandatory legal rights. This site grants no right to redistribute or modify the NVIDIA runtime and does not authorize circumvention of DRM or anti-cheat.

Add-ons load inside selected games and may conflict with anti-cheat protection, multiplayer rules, drivers or other mods. This also applies to the separate Jata capture component, which loads inside each game where you enable it. Do not use them where prohibited; freedom from account sanctions is not guaranteed. Close games before changes and keep independent backups. Universal support, FPS gains, HDR performance or image quality in every configuration are not promised. Interface demonstration films are not benchmarks.

The launcher checks hashes and GitHub release metadata before a user-approved update. This differs from BOREALIS’s signed update manifest and from Authenticode signing, which is absent in the NORDIC 5 build reviewed. No check eliminates every risk. From Launcher 0.5.76, installed game add-ons update automatically by default; previously saved update preferences are respected. Keep the launcher open; updates wait for running games to close. If automatic add-on updates are disabled, use Update selected with games closed. Selected profiles and saved settings are preserved. Component licenses and the mandatory rights described on this page continue to apply.
